Craziness...

So, while I have no business sitting at my computer and typing out a blog..I needed a mommy break, so hear goes....

This is week #2 of Josh working overtime at his regular job. While the money is nice we sure do miss him! In addition to his overtime his "side job" called and said they could really use him this week. Oh and did I mention I am leaving for Florida on Thursday!!! I have nothing ready, laundered, packed, etc... Since all of last summer I was pregnant I am in desperate need of going to the mall. However, I have an 11 month old and a 3 year old who I would have to lug around shopping with me :) I think I will have to attempt the mall tomorrow with them both and see what happens. Thank goodness for Auntie Anne's Pretzels and lemonade! That should keep them busy for a few minutes.

On a happier note, I enjoyed spending time with the girls today! It was such a beautiful (and HOT) day that I put the baby pool on the deck and they had a blast! Here is a picture of them today in their new swimsuits!

Mary Mary Quite Contrary, How Does Your Garden Grow

So I am attempting the whole gardening thing again...yes I said again. As some know I had a garden when we first got our house, however I ended up planting a little early and forgetting to give it water and I ended up with a very tiny harvest of peas :)

But this year will be different!!! So here is a picture of my garden which I planted last week. I am already beginning to see signs of life! I planted the following, wax beans, carrots, lima beans, watermelon, strawberries, squash, canteloupe, tomatos, zucchini, broccoli, various peppers, and onions. Now most of these were already plants when I bought them except for the beans and the carrots. So I was very excited when I checked on the garden today to see tiny bean sprouts!!!

Wish me luck, I will probably need it! :)

Our Info

So, as I am still learning how to create my blog and all that goes with that...I thought I would attempt to put up a picture. This is a picture we took before heading to Aubrey's Preschool Festival of the Arts Program.
Here is some info on our family for those of you who may not know us quite that well yet...
Josh and I have been married for 8 years now! Most of you know that we were high school sweethearts and married while we were in college. We both graduated from Purdue ("Boiler Up!!") with BS degrees..me in business management and Josh in engineering. He is my sugar daddy as I stay home and raise the girls :)
Aubrey came along in October 2006 and is now 3 1/2 years old. She is my little "mini-me" as Josh would put it....independent, stubborn, and so darn cute!!! After a rocky start with her health she has been very well since hitting th 2 year mark. Although she has been clinically diagnosed with Beckwith-Weidemann Syndrome since almost birth, she has almost outgrown all of the noticeable features of it. Since many have not heard of Beckwith-Weidemann Syndrome, it is basically a childhood overgrowth genetic condition. Aubrey's features were: large for gestational age, large protruding tongue (classic feature), abdominal wall defects/large umbilical hernias (surgically repaired), and an increased risk of abdominal tumors (which she is tested for every 3 months). BWS kids outgrow the risks and most features by the time they are 8 years old. She keeps us on our toes and is the cause of ALOT of our laughs with the things she says and repeats :)
Cadence is now 10 months...which is absolutley crazy! This year has been flying by! She is by far the cutest thing ever and one of the happiest little babies I have ever seen. She is such a snuggler and is struggling with learning how to go to sleep without being rocked (so are mommy and daddy). She is a very fast crawler and can get to the toilet in record time if she thinks she might have a chance at splashing in the water (totally gross and we try to remember to keep the lid down!). She is working on sleeping through the whole night but teething seems to keep interfering just as soon as we get a few good nights. She is always attached to my hip and is a HUGE "mommy's girl."
Hope this helps give a little info and insight into our family....looking forward to giving updates and funny stories which will most likely come from something Aubrey has done or said :)
